Default SAS Bear Mascot

Friends,

Via a Forum friend I obtained a pair of British SAS parachute wings that is reportedly dating from the fifties.

The pattern is fairly rare and different in shape from the other SAS wings of the period. As you can see the centre part of the wings is almost triangular.

The interesting thing is I also received a picture from the old SAS Museum showing a Mascot Bear wearing a little maroon beret with a very similar pair of wings mounted to the beret.

Does anybody have some more information on this pattern of wings?

Anybody seen it before?

Cheers,

Johan
