Default Staffordshire Rifle Volunteers

I am researching an individual who worked at the Talke On The Hill colliery. This was situated about a mile from Hardcastle station in Staffordshire.

He is recorded as being a member of the North Staffordshire Volunteers sometime before 1904. I assume this would be Rifle Volunteers.

Can any Forum member narrow down the likely battalion he served with, or the unit that would have been closest to the colliery?

All suggestions greatly appreciated.

Kind regards, Malcolm.

Kidsgrove Company, 1st Admin Battalion Staffs RV or possibly 1st Volunteer Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment.

When it is the company from Kidsgrove that would then be 13th Staffordshire Rifle Volunteer Corps, after consolidation ‘F’ Company, 2nd Staffordshire Rifle Volunteer Corps.

For more information about it's lineage: Infantry Volunteers North Staffordshire.
