Home Guard badge
I wonder whether any member(s) can help me out with a cap badge query?
I have a pair of COL/21 Home Guard numerals and wonder how this unit was badged. By this I mean what cap badge did they wear. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rob |

Rob,
It was a post Office unit see link below http://www.home-guard.org.uk/hg/strucbadgec.html The unit was at Acton Middlesex so presumably badged to Middlesex Regt. Regards Peter

Home Guard badge
PB According to the list, 19-26, 34 Bns Queen's own Royal West Kent Regiment, so presumably they wore the same as Mr Mainwaring.
Many thanks Rob |

Yes ,
My understanding is that COL is the designation for City of London but the 21st City of London Bn was a GPO unit and wore badge of the regiment where they were located which in this case was Acton Middlesex, hence my presumption that they wore the Middlesex Regt. cap badge. P.B.
