John Ryan VC (1823 – 4 March 1858) was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

Martin O'Meara VC (6 November 1885 – 20 December 1935)[1] was both an Irish recipient (by birth) and an Australian recipient (by naturalisation) of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
O'Meara was born at Terryglass, Lorrha, County Tipperary. Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Augustus Smith VC (Dublin 18 November 1826 – County Meath 22 July 1887) was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Smith entered the British Army in 1849 and saw action during the Crimean War at Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol. General Sir Mark Walker VC KCB (24 November 1827 – 18 July 1902) was born in Gore Port, Finea, County Westmeath in Ireland. He was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

William Cosgrove VC MSM (1 October 1888 – 14 July 1936) was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
William Cosgrove was born at Aghada, County Cork on 1 October 1888, the son of Michael and Mary Cosgrove. He had four brothers, Dan, Ned, David, Joseph and a sister Mary-Catherine. While they were still young their father emigrated to Australia, but later returned. In the meantime his wife moved with her children to a cottage in nearby Peafield, the children attended school at the National School, Ballinrostig. William began work at an early age as an apprentice butcher at Whitegate, and one of his daily chores was an early morning delivery to Fort Carlisle (now Fort Davis) with a consignment of meat for the troops. He was born at Kilcommon, Oughterard, County Galway. James McGuire VC (1827 – 22 December 1862) was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. The V.C. was later forfeited.

Michael Sleavon VC (1826 Magheraculmoney, County Fermanagh – 15 August 1902, Dromard, County Sligo) was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross.
At the age of 31, Sleavon was a corporal in the Corps of Royal Engineers during the Indian Mutiny.
