Blazer Badges ID
Hi All,
I've just bought a few blazer badges on eBay so I can get one in particular. I'm not really interested in the rest so will probably try and trade them or put them back on eBay. I'm fairly sure one isn't a blazer badge but is the squadron badge from a flight suit for the Dambusters. Can anyone help with the other two? A google search makes me think the Alpha Company one is for 40 Commando, is that correct or is it a special part of it or something else completely? Thanks a lot, Michael |

Yes 40 Commando Royal Marines, Alpha Company is correct ... post war always known as 'The Saints'. Legend has it that one of the Company Commanders was a fan of Leslie Charteris hence the nickname. I served in 40 '65 - '67, several members of Alpha wore a small 'Saints' badge under the fold of their berets.

And I would guess that the left hand one is for a civvie parachute club from Charleston, South Carolina, USA.

Thanks a lot, I was wondering about that. I was also wondering why they were known as alpha coy rather than 40 commando?
Thanks for the reply. Michael |

Thanks Ian, that makes perfect sense now you have said that. I'll have to hit Google again.
