Default Headdresses For Inspection

I have a couple of Royal Engineers headdresses here for scrutiny. I would be very grateful if members are able to put a date to them. All comments very welcome.

Judging from the badges and buttons 1937-1952. OSD bronze badges were discontinued in 1949.

Oh dear Simon, perhaps a very sizeable percentage of badges in my collection have completely deceived me and I should at least consider throwing them away?
