The Fall Nashville Show is History

I attended our local show yesterday and was expecting the usual abundance of NAZI and US offerings, but was totally overwhelmed by the amount of British and Commonwealth badges I saw. I truly could have hurt myself in a bad way, but unfortunately, my hobby funds are truly limited by this time of the year. However, I still managed to find and pick up some lovely new items for my assorted areas of collecting.









Probably not the most choice of the items, but I was overjoyed to find and get the Transvaal Highlanders cap badge, as I was really wanting that one to complete my set of basic SA highland badges. I think the small Lovat Scouts is also a great find. I've tired researching it on the forum and I did read mention of it possibly being Boer War period??? If anybody knows for sure I would be grateful. The others were just too nice not to pass up, and the dealer was very kind in working with me.

The sad thing is that he also had an awesome QAIMNS grouping that included her tippet, many photos and lots of paperwork and other items. He was going to hold it for me but someone came along and bought it, so I missed it. But, I never get upset over a loss, and am always just happy for what I am able to have.

Bottom line I cam home a very happy collector!

PS - Oh yes, there were LOTS of other nice pieces I would have loved, but maybe they will still be available at the spring show.

Hi Paul,

I used to make it on a regular basis, but I don't really travel much anymore outside of about a 35 mile radius. It is an awesome show for sure, and I always came home happy with lots of goodies.
