Far East Nurse 'skirt' - RARE INSIGNIA
A friend has recently acquired this Indian 'skirt' from the family of a nurse who served in the Far East - While we swelter in the heat I thought members here may be interested to see it ... even though it may caused additional salivation ... It may provide some entertainment trying to identify them all
To my eye, some highlights include Indian Field Broadcasting Units - so rare that Len Whittaker wrote to inform me he has misidentified a Newfoundland badge (Caribou head) as insignia of the unit (Some Talk of Private Armies item 46) His notes (p.58) appear to suggest the unit only had a strength of four platoons. Also an unrecorded item of V Force insignia No doubt you will find further rare items. Any comments welcome |

Good to hear from you Paul - yes, I was in awe when I saw it. It has been kept protected and the colours are vivid.

Outstanding. Interesting to see one or two British signs (Western Comd and an AA Div) which the donor may have brought with him when posted to India.
