1633 R. Watt, 1/7th Royal Scots
Hello Forum members,
I would be grateful for help in locating this soldier's military service records for a friend. R (probably Robert) Watt was a survivor of the Gretna Green train crash in 1915. Thanks, John |

Maybe R Watt's records have been lost.
Can anyone confirm? Thanks, John |

Must be 20 years since I looked into this and back then it involved someone visiting the National Archives. I know some info such as medal index cards and pension records are online and it looks like you might find info from the burnt documents via ancestry. https://discovery.nationalarchives.g...details/r/C543 Regards, Paul. Not familiar with searching WO numbers but found my grandfather with ease in the Household Cavalry records.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your comments and the link. I have searched ancestry.com for his Medal Index Card but unsuccessfully. I suspect his other records were lost in the bombing raid in WW2. Regards, John |
