'Home Fires', howlers
Like many other 'other halfs', I have recently been subjected to the truly dreadful 'soap' that is 'Home Fires'.
But, the last couple of weeks have proved quite entertaining, who else has spotted the many historical and factual errors? I will start the ball rolling. It is 1940, just after Dunkirk, and there is a scene featuring a large badge to the Royal Observer Corps, featuring a Queens crown. T ps it was not made 'Royal' until 1941, so, 2 mistakes there. |

Yes. The Mark IX Spitfires are another "give-away". Also, am I not right in thinking mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was a post war technique ?

I had to google what this thread is all about. Never heard of it before.
I couldn't watch it as one of my favourite things to do, when tv is on, is to rip programs/films apart.

Plenty of scope for that with this one Phil. I have been barred from the room for the rest of the series. (no great hardship to be honest).

After pointing out Mel Gibsons numerous historical inaccuracies in The Patriot and Braveheart, I am banned from watching historical films in our house when others are about.

Don't get banned from the TV, get a smaller one for those who wish to watch such things and put it in another room.
