our girl-bbc military drama

hi all,

did snyone else see the new drama "our girl"about the army last night.

i thought it was ok but not brilliant.took appox 25mins before it got to the army a bit long i thought but maybe that was just me.

it did throw up a cpl of questions for me though

1)were the recruits wearing general service corps cap badges
2)did anyone get a good view of the trf that the instructors were wearing,what was it.
3)i know its the modern army but shouldnt the male instuctors annouce their presense before entering an all female dorm,such a "man in the block" in case they are in various stages of dress

I can only answer your first two questions with any confidence Philip:

1. Yes the GSC badge is worn until recruits 'successfully' pass off the square at the end of week 6.
2. The TRF is for the Individual Training Group (ITG).

N.B. You raise a good point about men in the block, but I think the requirement to declare a presence is usually only for after daily working hours.
