None of mine have level wing tips. Even the lower centre has wing tips at different heights, it only looks level because the back wing has been bent over. I picked this one up in mid Wales.

Apologies Kevin, have now found the picture archived in my old email address, at time of posting didn’t realise it was yours but probably should’ve twigged.

Not sure on the point re the shoulder title as a T-Y-Montgomery so it’s post 1908.

Aside, as ever with Yeomanry wearing a mishmash of IY cap / shoulder titles in TY period esp. in WW1 was not uncommon.

Yes your MIY badge has a very bent wing so much so yours looks lower than the forewing.

Notwithstanding, I maintain the wing profile and void of the MY discussed is different with back wing noticeably higher and shallower ‘V’ void.

Ultimately there’s two RPC, first with MY lettering placement actually discernible on the scroll.

Badges in both RPCs have a noticeably smaller void between the scroll and ground on the side of the M.

The wing profiles below.

The 3 pics above have all been trimmed down to belly-line, tongue, wingtip and rump so are roughly in proportion.

*I can assure members wing tips on my MIY on the blue background aren’t bent over.

Interestingly the leg void also looks larger, also akin to the MY.

I’d disagree this is a ‘theory’. It’s two RPC pictures and deciding what is the best candidate for the badge in wear.

I’m sure members can use their own eyes and minds to decide what badge they think it is.

Another one we will have to agree to disagree on.
