Very Interesting!

The second marked Firmin London, has me puzzled?? Is it from a similar period 50/60s or is it the badge of the Light Division Band adopted well over 30 years later? Andy |

Post 64 sealing date would suggest TA and cadets only could have worn the a/a badge.

Not much I'm afraid. a) Noted in the CCN of 1963. b) Noted in Annex A to Eastern Command dated 25th November 1966 including '1. Prices for Regular and Territorial Army cap badges'. Labeled 118A, file WO32/20561 costing 2 shillings and three pence. c) Standard sealed pattern card owned by the Imperial War Museum - CB 3095, pattern 19339, sealed 28th Aug 1964, slider marked 'DOWLER. BIRMINGHAM'. Regards Chris |

Chris,
As the regular bn ceased to wear that design in 1958, those dates are good enough for me to show that they were made in a/a for the TA/cadets. Alan |

One piece RE
Hello again gents,
Back off thread again. Here are some more pics of my one piece RE. No makers mark to the slider front or back, all gold back with strut as mentioned. There appears to be traces of some kind of fixing material to the slider, maybe solder as suggested or could this possibly have been some kind of epoxy?? Regards Ry Last edited by Charlie585; 04-06-12 at 03:03 PM. |

Certainly the TA but cadets are a bit of a problem to verify as there is very little documentation on ACF and CCF units. Regards Chris |

Not come across epoxy in documentation. I am sure the badges are good though. Regards Chris |

Plenty of Ox and Bucks examples around £5-£8.
But as with any badge you might get a £10 or £12 depending how many people want it and who they have access to. |
