Polo blazer badge?
There was a chap on ebay selling a collection of embroidered badges on multicoloured pockets recently. He had about 15-20 different pockets, all of which were on different striped pattern material and all with different regimental badges. I have an idea that I have seen photographs of such blazers being worn out in India in the 1930's but I cannot remember if they were worn for Polo matches or perhaps by rifle shooting teams.
A great many were for Indian regiments but there were some British regiments amongst them. Here is an example. Can anyone please tell me anything about them? |

I'm commenting on something I know little about, but the quality of bullion embroidery looks modern to me.

I bought the RASC one, initially looked at the Burma Rifles one but then noticed some of them were for modern regiments, so can't have had any age to them.

Attractive enough items, run up by one of the current Pakistani bullion badge manufacturers?

I am not convinced that there is any age to them and I am not sure if the cloth is in the correct regimental colours, but every material backing was in different colours, so someone has gone to a lot of effort. If they have come from genuine blazers, it seems odd that they have all been removed.

I agree with the general consensus, stitching is poor, no obvious wear to them, and the Probyn’s Horse badge was misspelled Probyn Horse, definitely wouldn’t pass muster !!

I agree they are new and maybe not e best quality, but I also agree with Sean - they do look nice and I might consider one at the price he is asking for a unit I am interested in.

My RASC one has just arrived, surprised in that the material definitely has some age to it, the embroidery is definitely recent, my guess from the material is that these are old cravats cut to shape and embroidered upon.
