KDG collar
Hi all,
I am sure I have seen this collar before but now I come to list it for sale on the Forum, I cannot find its date range - could someone assist - my feeling was Edwardian? Thanks in advance, Dean

That is not a collar badge to my knowledge. It looks like the NCO arm badge, but what is the size and is it tarnished silver? It is cast, very similar to Indian made badges.

Much smaller than the KDG arm badges I am familiar with thanks CB. It is collar badge sized 34x22mm and is cast bronze with long loops. Cheers Dean

I have seen these in several collections, but have never really got a definitive answer on their true purpose. So the best I can do is give you the most popular view I have been given, it's said to be an Edwardian Officers collar Badge, and was also probably worn on their FS Cap as well. I have to say it would be good to get this bottomed out with a documentary /photographic reference, so Good luck and happy hunting Rob

Many thanks Rob and I can recall reading an article on cavalry collars and thought it covered these as an Edwardian period Officers collar badge and many of these were worn in the field service cap. Hoping to put this ID Into the definite chapter, cheers Dean.

A very interesting conundrum. Personally, I would hold to several possibilities and avoid placing it more specifically without evidence.

Pre Hapsburg eagle officers side cap badge
Hi CB ,
The Bullion side hat badge I posted pre-dates the Hapsburg officers eagle side hat. This is one of two examples I’ve seen in my collecting years , the other was part of the late Walter Lambert’s collection . Tony C |
