Default Rhodesian display

Dear all,

A new find, from an old collector. I hope they are legit! If you have information about some of the badges, feel free to help me (I am more interested in WW2/VN insignias...).

Thanks!

Dear Frank,

You are absolutely right, but due tot the lack of dedicated section, I have posted (wrongly) this topic here, as it has been done for older posts about this subject. An administrator can of course move my post in a relevant section if needed.

Sorry, and thank you!

Best regards,

AATTV

Is it possible for us to have a Rhodesian section please? I've had my ear chewed before, for displaying Rhodesian badges with South African badges.

Phil.

I have never understood what is wrong with the All other Colonial Badges section in the Other Commonwealth military insignia part of the site.
If I were a Rhodesian collector, I would not place anything in the South African section.

Maybe just change the title to South African & Rhodesian Military and Police Insignia?

There are some South African badges in this frame.

Like the Rhodesian ones as well. I found loads in the Cape Town area a few years ago, I'm sure a quartermaster must have passed away or the wife finally got her way?

Regards
Brian

regarding a couple of thinly barbed posts above. Perhaps the esteemed admin gentleman meant SOUTHERN Africa in his title of this section. Come on Guys, remember what’s on the front cover of Colin Owen’s book! This is the BEST FORUM of it’s TYPE in the World, If you have a beef, send a PM to the person! OOPS, I suspect my “INBOX” will be full in the morning!..... regards, DJ.

Totally agree, Southern African etc etc would be the best solution

Hi AATTV
I am quite interested in the RRAF wing as I am a collector of Rh AF wings but I think that it is spurious. Can you maybe post a better photo showing the crown? It looks to me like a king's crown but it only became the ROYAL Rhodesian Air Force in 1954, so there shouldn't be a KC RRAF wing.
Cheers,
Alex

Dear Alex,

Thank you for sharing those warnings. To be honest, I am not a specialist. Please find the requested pictures. The quality seems fine but your doubts are absolutely legit. I have met some similar badges and wings in grouping sold in auctions some years ago. But it is not an evidence, for sure.

Best regards,

AATTV
