Default 7th Battalion Kings Liverpool Regiment stained glass window

A member of “The Kings Liverpool Regiment (1685-1958)” Facebook group has just posted this picture of an item that was in her house in Scotland when she moved in.

A fantastic item but she had no idea how it came to be there.

Any suggestions on how one could find out more about who might have commissioned the piece appreciated.

Hi Peter,

The window styling looks like it’s from the 1920s (I studied stained glass works a very long time ago ) and would be appropriate for the 7th BN’s timeframe. I assume (and perhaps incorrectly) that the window is installed. If so, the owner might try obtaining her home’s prior ownership records, with a focus on the late ‘teens and 20’s period. If she can ID an owner, then she can try cross referencing that individual to medal index cards at the National Archives. She can also give the census records for the period a go as well if she can find prior ownership information and then check the owner in the census records for males at the residence against NA cards.

Hope this provides some useful possibilities/leads!

Best regards,
Jay

You’re welcome, Peter!

Here’s a link to the Registers of Scotland where she may find information on her home’s past owners or perhaps can obtain help with finding that information.
