Not Gurkhas but what Regt ?
So I was obviously attracted to the heading for this item but its nothing to do with the Gurkhas ( I'm sure its an honest mistake on the part of the seller) - my best guess is that its the 4th Btn Royal Garrison Regiment - a short lived unit ( 1900 > 1907 ) but served in Malta and South Africa.

I would agree that it's Garrison Regiment.

39th Royal Garhwal Rifles had a 4th Battalion just as a suggestion.

The 39th R.G.R became the 18th Royal Garhwal Rifles in 1922, they too had a 4th battalion, which became a training battalion and was renumbered as the 10th battalion.

My thoughts lean toward the R. Gahrwal Rifles as well.

The crown is very similar to Victorian crowns found on E Surrey and DLI badges and the lion appears to have the more curved usual QVC or could be Edward VII crown but not WW2, sure someone will know what it is.

Some thoughts about the 4th battalion, Royal Garhwal Rifles possibility.
See also Royal Garhwal rifles There was a 4th Battalion, 39th Royal Garhwal Rifles from 1921 (when they became Royal) to 1922 (when they were renumbered 18th). But would the number 39th be omitted from such a spoon? A new 4th Battalion was raised in 1940, but again wouldn't they mention the number 18th on such objects? The number was dropped in 1945 and from that moment RGR would fit. But in 1946 the 4th Battalion was renumbered as the 2nd. So a very small time frame indeed.

I think if it had have been 4/39th Royal Garhwal Rifles - the 39 would have appeared in the cypher ? Also the badge of RGR had a kings crown but no Lion. Whereas the cap badge for the Royal Garrison Regt was the Royal Cypher - so I'm still leaning to them.
