Default Royal Air Force VTR insignia

Uniform bought this morning for 15 quid, came with cap, trousers and braces.
Nothing special I'm sure, but may be of some interest.
Some (I assume) uniform alteration receipts in the pockets dated 1989.
VRT collar badges have blades.
Cap badge attached to elasticated head band.

Name written inside cap, A PIMBLETT.
Cap looks to be much older than the uniform, images of makers label and owners name attached.
Also this image from Facebook, I wonder if this Alan Pimblett was the original owner of this uniform.

Tony

I think that's a good shout. VRT collar badges were worn by officers of the Volunteer Reserve (Training) wing, who, for the most part were Air Training Corps officers. AEF Squadrons are "Air Experience Flying" Squadrons whose purpose is to provide flying experience to members of the ATC and CCF (RAF Sections).

There are quite a number of more "senior" (age wise) officers retained on the AEF Squadrons. I met one chap at the AEF Squadron at RAF Linton On Ouse a couple of years ago who was in his 70s but still providing flying training.

Paul, interesting the A Pimblett in the Facebook images, going from his dates of service, would fall into the same age group as the guy you met.
