Default Mystery Naval Cap Badge…..

I bought a small lot at a militaria auction which included some items related to an Albert Nathaniel Field, who was a Lt Cdr. in the RNR, and WW2 was with the Admiralty and Combined Operations. This cap badge was with the lot, and I am stumped as to what it is…

A thread about it :
Quote:
The badge is that worn by the crews of the General Post Office’s (GPO) cable laying ships, until 1969 known as His/Her Majesty’s Telegraph Ship (HMTS).

Hi Jill

It is either Cable and Wireless or Marconi, one of the cable ship companies anyway. I’m at work so can’t check at present, but looking on Google should confirm it.
