Wiltshire Yeomanry
Wilts yeomanry. The first two photos show a badge that is similar to the device shown in K&K and took a long time coming. Notice the slider is made so that it protrudes well away from the back of the badge.

I am not convinced that the present set up of a slider can be taken to be that that was the way the badge was originally manufactured, I have had badges where due to either being worn,or mounted for display the slider has been subject to pressure so many times that it stands prouder to the back of the badge than was originally the case. If a slider is bent at a high angle to the back of a badge it is actually very difficult to bend it back to its original position without risking the possibility that you might break the slider off completely. Some similarities to the problem with blades on OSD badges. P.B. |

Interesting. The feathers and crown are definently different from a scroll-less Welsh/Welch badge.
