Default 4th and 5th Bns. Leicestershire Regiment

Not within my sphere of collecting, so looking to sell this photo in due course, but before so doing, I'd very much like to share the find with the forum.

Nothing particularly earth-shattering, but just nice to have a picture of this less commonly seen unit... 4th or 5th Bn, Leicestershire Regiment.

Cannot quite make out whether the July date written on the reverse says '1914' or '1917':

Kind regards,

JT

Badge looks to be damaged-lost rear leg? Do the STs look to have a number but no T? Regards, Paul.

For what it's worth JT, I'm with the "14" crowd. 7's are not usually (at last for me) written with a down stroke seperate to the top stroke (does that make sense??)

One thing the French have going, is it's much easier to identify numbers. Oh, and cheese, of course, so that's two things.....
