Default 21st Lancers
I would appreciate the opinions of the forum please. Is this badge an original or fake?

It looks correct to me for the period before 1902, when the looped (aka ‘lugged’) badges changed to sliders. I believe the 21st Lancers also changed the design of their badge before 1914.

You may like to compare a close up of the letters and crown on a die-stamped original. Also note the non-footed lugs on the reverse. I would expect an original badge to look very similar.

It’s the standard fake sorry. Note the V isn’t actually a v - it lacks the right hand diagional line.

Where does this information actually come from please?
I have always thought the Corps of Lancers wore their lugged badges well into the kings reign, I've certainly come across a number of Edwardian forage caps with lugged badges that show absolutely no signs, whatsoever, of any other badge being worn upon the same.
