canadian WW1 bugle ???

This bugle below belonged to a member of the 112th Battalion and was also part of the band. Although I have seen badges on these things I was never sure when they were applied so let them be. I have never seen them in any period photos I have.

That is the sort of marking on the WW1 Canadian item that I have. No sign of any sort of badge, just the maker, Toronto and 1914 plus a 5 over a bar over MR - 5th Mounted Rifles.
