Essex Regiment TF
01.03.21.a.jpg
01.03.21.b.jpg Thoughts on this Essex Regiment TF, Bit worried by lack of voiding between wreath and castle. But it does have a firmin mark. Is this a 1916 Economy badge ? Thanks Chris |

Not a genuine 1916 all GM issue.
I was going to post a thread warning people of this one but it disappeared almost immediately. Have a feeling this badge, or one very like it, has done the rounds before and been discussed on here previously. Firmin did not mark sliders in WW1. Edit: found it https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...t=Essex+Firmin appears to be the exact same badge from the marks on the slider and mis-stamped name. |

No worries.
The badge is from the same die as Jeremy Tenniswood TF repro discussed here. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ighlight=Essex There is a slight notch in the tablets border just behind the Sphinx’s bum and also several distinctive seeding patterns within the tablet that marry up. Hopefully you can send it back if you bought it. |

Badge arrived today. It is definitely the badge in the earlier post you referenced. I contacted the seller who was quite happy to issue a refund. once again if it was not for the help and advice offered by forum members, in this case luke, i would be the proud owner of a fake badge.
