RAF at Sea?
Hi all, just a question out of curiosity, When the Invincible class carriers were in commission, they had an RAF Harrier force embarked, along with significant numbers of RAF personnel in support, did they ever wear any distinguishing insignia to denote "Sea service"? Additionally, did they wear naval n0 4 Action working dress onboard?

No, however, Officers had to wear 'Red Sea Rig' in the Ward room that included a unique combo of No.2 Trousers, White RN Shirt with RAF shoulder boards and a Sqn Cummerbund. The shoulder boards are interesting if you can find them.

RAF Officers serving in units of the Fleet Air Arm -1925 to 1940
To further my studies of the above subject can any member provide me with a copy of a photograph of the 1925 arm badge being worn by an RAF officer? If so it would make an old man very happy!! Thanks in anticipation

I have a reproduction one of those, and put a post on here several years ago asking about it? I'm sure someone posted a picture of an original being worn!

Salorbear, attached is a pic of the actual badges and a modern repro. These are most probably well known by Ray Walkling. He is actually seeking a picture of Officers wearing the badge above their rank braid.

RAF Officers serving in units of the Fleet Air Arm 1925 - 1940
Many thanks Sailorbear for your efforts. Dave is quite right in what he says what I really seek is a picture of the badge being worn on an RAF OFFICERS uniform. My studies have uncovered numerous historic recollections of the badge being extremely unpopular with the RAF Officers who served in the units of the Fleet Air Arm, hence I presume the scarcity of photographs.
