Default Printed shoulder eagle

Can anyone comment as to usage of this badge (time frame, uniform, etc). Thanks

Bog standard shoulder eagle designed and produced in approx 1940 and printed by the Calico Printers Association. It was most probably still being worn in the late 1940s until replaced by the blue/grey background versions. It was worn by all ranks, Flt Sgt and below, on all uniforms of the RAF and WRAF.

The example shown was sewn to a Jacket, Other Airman dated 1943.
