However, I think the IWM may have got their dates wrong. The Royal West Kents arrived in November 1905, The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders in Apr 1908 |

It is just possible that one of the men in the photo is my great uncle, my grandfathers oldest brother. Of course, given the size of a battalion, the odds are against it. In any event, I have never seen a photo of him anyway. He was born in 1879- and was a regular soldier. I have not yet found him in the 1901 census. However, by the time of the 1911 census was a sergeant in 2nd Royal West Kents in India.
