Default Personal details

Knowing that I was interested in such things, the professional who has just painted our living room mentioned his maternal grandfather's medals - "in a box somewhere at home. He brought them in today - War Medal 1914-20 and Victory Medal - each on the other's ribbon - both named to ;

132649 Pte S Lampard MGC

There were no other military items in the tin - a few coins, a darts prize badge, a hallmarked silver RAOB lodge badge and a couple of Red Cross items. No MGC badges unfortunately.

Is there a WW1 expert amongst the membership who could add anything to these sparse details? Many thanks. Mike

Nothing much to add i'm afraid other than to confirm that 132649 Private Stanley Lampard qualified for the British War & Victory medals and was discharged to Class Z Army Reserve 30/11/1919. It would appear that his service records have not survived. There are several Stanley Lampards listed in the 1911 Census in such diverse places as Streatham, Bristol and Salisbury (I would guess that the Bristolian is probably this chap as he was born in 1899)
