Bill
Charles Edward Pearson originally served with the 24th (1st Tyneside Irish) Battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers before subsequently serving with the 2nd Garrison Battalion.
Not surprisingly he lived in Newcastle Upon Tyne , his address on enlistment and discharge was given as 6 George Stairs, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. Some time after WW1 he married Catherine and they lived at several addresses in Newcastle. He last appears in the Electoral Roll in 1969 and would appear to have died in 1970. Interestingly his year of birth is given as "around 1900" so it would appear that he was significantly underage when he enlisted.
(Information relating to his address taken from Tyneside Irish by John Sheen and confirmed along with other details through Ancestry.Co.Uk

Many thanks Simon and PL
He appears to have been discharged in 1919, so I wonder if his SWB was a result of sickness during his time at the Depot.
Would he have been sent to the Garrison Battalion as a result of his real age being discovered?
Regards,
Bill.
