Default 15th South Alberta Light Horse

I picked this up in the UK a few weeks ago and looking online I saw one site saying these buttons are rare. Is this the case? as it seems to have been a unit that lasted for a few years at least.

The 15th Light Horse can be traced back to 1906, a small cavalry unit in South Alberta, who recruited for the CEF and were reinforcements for the Cdn Mounted Rifles.

According to Smylie in Buttons of the Canadian Militia this button was used by the unit from 1907 to 1939.

The 15th Light Horse was formed in 1905.
It was renamed the 15th Canadian Light Horse in 1920.
It was amalgamated with the South Alberta Horse to form the 15th Alberta Light Horse in 1936.
It was renamed the South Alberta Light Horse in 1954. New buttons were adopted by the SALH that year.

Unfortunately I have no idea as to the rarity or value of the button you have.

Cheers,
Dan.
