Default Staffordshire

Interesting photo in the times today on the visit of Camilla to Westminster abbey for the late Queens tribute . On duty was warrant officer Greg Hedges and the regiments bull terrier What was of interest is that he is wearing a blue cloth helmet with K/C plate with stafford badge to H.P centre

N B I am aware that the Staffordshire are part of the MERCIAN Regiment

I believe that Watchman is not the official mascot of the Mercian Regt. He may be something to do with one of the Mercian TA battalions that have presence within the county.

Watchman VI described as "Staffordshire Regimental Association" mascot.

I was just going to add that Mike. I presume WO2 Hedges is on the strength of the Mercian TA .

My main point was the K/C plate I have a large collection of H P to ''modern ''
regiments post amalgamations mainly band including 9 blue cloth helmets All are either Q V C or Q/C .the only K/C plate that I have seen is the D & D regimental band collection I suspect other out there but not seen any
Also just noticed that his W O arm badge is also K/C wearing band uniform with k/c crowns I have a photo of the picture in the Times [ 11/11/22 ,but unsure of copyright laws if I can place it on here
