1ST West York Royal Engineer
Chaps i can't seem to find anything on the above ? Could i have some help please, what cap badge would be worn ?

Hello, Likewise, I cannot find any info about this unit but I have seen this metal shoulder title. Maybe it was worn by them??

Westlake's book on the Engineer Volunteers has a 1st Yorkshire (West Riding) Engineer Volunteer Corps, formed 1860 (sixth in precedence on the list).
Might that be it? He then has it transferring to the TF in 1908 as the West Riding Divisional Engineers. The title shown is I think for the Div Engineers (TF) rather than the volunteer unit. |

I would assume the standard RE badge in white metal would have been worn?
