Default CATS

I am looking for information on the CATS - this is either the Cdn Army Trade School (male) or the Cdn Auxiliary Transport Service (female)
Any and all input is welcomed, including photos of badges in wear.
Clive

Hi Clive, We seem are bumping into each other again. I have been doing some research on this acronym, and I have come up with the Canadian Army Training Schools and Canadian Army Trade Schools. When I did a search of the LAC using the name "Canadian Auxiliary Transport Service" it came back without any pertinent references.
Further, an internet search only turns up the Canadian Auxiliary Transport Service in reference to the Mazeas badges. There is no record or history of any such unit.

This is part of a greater research project into para-military organizations. Below is a photo of a small group of women (cropped from a larger group) who met with DND in Ottawa to talk about the formation of the CWACs. I am trying to determine the actual title for the CATS and to confirm that the badge shown is theirs.

Thanks Clive. That adds some substance to that acronym.

Bill,

Just discovered that CATS is the Canadian Auxiliary Territorial Service, an Ontario-based women's para-military organization. The research continues.

Hi Clive, You may already have this source. There is a bit of information in ATHENE, the history of the CWAC. It outlines the early para-military women's groups that were active in forming the CWAC.

Clive, have you spoken to Doug Townend about this? He's the expert on CWACs. David
