Sweethearts -facing pair ??
Some time ago I bought a gilt Kings Liverpool sweetheart the design of which is loosely based on that of the pre 1881 collar badge.
Unusually for a sweethearts badge it faces to the right when looking at it i.e it faces the wrong which was a bit strange. At this mornings local Antique fair I picked an almost identical sweethearts badge but facing the other way- so I now a facing pair of sweethearts brooches Has anyone come across anything similar ? P.B.

Hi Peter,
I do have this one, see photo and I would like to know from anyone if this is one of a pair too. Regards. Dave. |

Perhaps different manufacturers patterned it from different collar badges?

Hi Luc,
I realise mine is a different pattern to Peters' but I was more interested in whether these could have been made in pairs ?? I know mine is facing in the same direction as the cap badge but wouldn't they look good in matching pairs ?? Regards. Dave. |

I don't see why they sould come in facing pairs? I suppose a fiance/wife would only wear a single one.
Having said that, I have Chaplains sweetheart earrings that were worn as a pair but they are identical and not facing. |

Just an idea, maybe one for the wife and one for the sweetheart, may they never meet and always be facing away form each other?

Now that last post reminds me of a Naval toast for Friday. "To our wives and sweethearts, may the two never meet!"............DJ.
