The 51st Div REME Tam I show is I feel undoubtedly as worn during WWII by the man whose name is in it, and may well simply be a GS Cap with tourie added.

I'd forgotten that the cap had eyelets on a "deep" band (apparently 51 Div promoted the wear of Scottish tribal headgear with badge backings by the non specifically Scottish components of the Division in order to reinforce divisional identity, so I've read).
