Default What is the Tartan backing on this badge

Dear Friends.

Can someone please advise me what the Tartan Backing on the attached photo is please.

The correct Tartan for this Glengarry Badge is the Grant Tartan as worn by 32 Signal Regiment (V).

I have no idea why this badge is on this Tartan.

Any theories would be appreciated.

Many thanks
