Out and out fake. WD is not a genuine mark and never mixed with another maker.

this vendor is the same source as the silver connaught rangers badges (stamped "silver" and with blades ) we discussed last year.

That badge IMHO appears quite "cheesie" in that nothing about it appears right.

This guy has come up with another one......ebay item 260381110921. I have never seen one like this and this guy comes up with two. A bit of a worry.
I am a bit concerned though because I posted a thread asking about the possibility of dodgy ACMF badges and the general feeling of reponses was that because of the large numbers made manufacturing dodgy ones woukld be unprofitable. I guess you never can tell. Donny B. |

I emailed him about this and he is going to get back to me....seems that he got it from someone who said - and I quote "They came back and said it was the real deal"...

Quote:
person/people who have stated that '....they were the real deal etc...' - this isn't going to us anywhere. This is the full text of his reply - I have deliberately omitted his name. " Hi, Thanks for the email.. Seems I won the jackpot with all the emails I am getting over it. Bugger!.I actually asked the seller if it was real or a copy as I explained to him that it was too clean and I had never seen another with the broad arrow or war department markings on it. They came back and said it was the real deal. I could not get any confirmation from Cossums book and I have over 300 different rising sun badges some not listed either. I will go back to this bloke and sort it out.. Thank you for looking after my interests. All the best from Western Australia." david |
