Nice example of the cadet battledress...back when they had cadet officers.
The CCF and ACF patches are from the UK; I'm interested in the Canadian stuff. |

Here is an interesting cadet jacket. It's from 1112 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps at W.D. Lowe Technical School. I don't know the history behind the jacket yet but it use is shown in the photo from the Windsor Star which is also shown here.

Very interesting. Was the corps a "closed" corps, that is, all members were students at the school? Many of the closed corps had their own uniforms. At first glance one would say it is DEU, but the newspaper photo quickly determines that it predated DEU (and the RCAC green uniform) by at least 30 years.

As luck would have it, I bumped into a fellow who was on parade when the photo was taken. He remembered sweating his you know what off in battle dress while the leadership had these new cooler uniforms.

It must have been a local purchase / locally adopted uniform - battledress was the issue until the "bushjacket" style green cadet uniforms came around.
