John Whylie 4th (later 6th) Perthshire Bn; 2/Lieut. 5/12/00; Lieut 12/7/01; Instr of Musk. 4/10/02; Capt 24/3/06; Major 11/1/15; T/Lt Col, Comdg, 6th Perthire Bn 28/6/15. Second i/c 22/8/15; T/Lt Col Comdg 6th Bn 1/10/16; MID 15/6/16.

Fabulous photo. Most never think of the very substantial cost of an officers kit.
They would often be in debt to the military tailors for many years.
It appears Wylie was a small man, as most were for their time. I collect uniforms from this period and have never had nor seen a tunic larger than a 38, most in the 35 to 36 range.
