1952 FCO-RCAF Badge
Just got this badge - quite nice!! I take it that FCO is Forward Control Officer??

Nice patch Larry. I think gga has the gist of the abbreviation. FCO Course 109. 1952-1953. These course patches are an entire collecting area in themselves. Nice early dated one. Very seldom seen. Nice that it has what appears to be an embroidered version of the CF 100?
Crest Craft is a well know western Canada embroidery company, and they marked most of their patches with the stamp or a sticker. Great to be able to identify the maker. |

Possibly Fighter Control Operator - later called Air Defence Technicians. These were the personnel who monitored the indicators on the Long Range Radar Sites and directed the fighters onto the targets.
