Default Simply Superb!

Being in the fortunate position of having been allowed an advance copy of this excellent publication, I can without hesitation and after only just a detailed browse confirm that this is an OUTSTANDING reference book. Based on "fact" and supported by an incredible amount of reference material, I am pretty certain that this will be regarded as the future authority on the subject of "Anodised Cap Badge" collecting. Better than any publication currently available to the collectors of cap badges, I would, without hesitation, recommend it to anyone and even though it comes with a hefty price tag, it is, in my opinion "Worth Every Penny".

Although there is little comparison in quality to the former, this is a modern day masterpiece, the "Kipling and King" of anodised cap badges!

Well done Chris and worth the wait!

Good luck with your future sales!

Andy

Hi Alan,

As part of the contract with the print brokers in USA I was able to obtain 10 advance copies of the main shipment via airmail. Unfortunately, these could have been disposed of many times over to members on the forum and it was a great problem in deciding who to 'release' them to.

Sorry that I had to miss you out this time as the badges you let me borrow were essential to the book. I will put your name down for a copy of the first shipment of books out of New Zealand and will contact you as soon as they arrive.

Hope this is OK.

Regards

Chris

I think we all expected something special with this book and it has certainly lived up to expectations. In fact it’s ‘set the bar’ at a new height for badge books. Quality specialist books on British Insignia are few and far between, I’m thinking of Linaker and Dyne, with Cavalry Arm Badges, Edwards and Langley with British Army Proficiency Badges, and Churchill with The History of the British Infantry Collar Badge. It is with these publications we can now add Anodised Aluminium; the ‘No Bull’ Cap Badge of the British Army by Chris Marsh. In fact I would go a little further with this new publication and say it’s the best specialist title yet produced because of its considerable scope.

The book itself is of the highest quality; binding, paper, text and illustration. Anyone that has tried to take a photograph of an anodised aluminium cap badge will know just how difficult it is the get a ‘life-like’ image. I've personally been taking photographs of badges and medals for the past decade, and most of the time anodised badges have defeated me. We therefore have to tip our hats to the author for the quality and consistency of the photographs in this publication.
The erudition and meticulous research that has gone into the book is astounding. It obviously represents a vast amount of time spent in the archives with the original contemporary documentation. This is presented in the book in a clear and understandable fashion, obviously written by a passionate collector for collectors. The book answers the questions many have had on anodised aluminium cap badges, and even some questions we never thought to ask! All in all it is the definitive work on the subject, and will be for decades to come.

Mike - many thanks for this most complimentary review.

From the initial ten advance orders it appears that the book has been received in a most positive manner.

I have to admit that I am in a slight state of shock.

Regards

Chris

Default No Bull!

Despite the best efforts of Australia Post I was very pleased to receive a copy of this book from Chris. Having been aware of the amount of research that had been undertaken I am surprised that he has been able to incorporate so much of it in this book! If I was about 14 years old I'd say 'awesome'. As it is I'll just say 'impressed'.
The layout of the book makes it both readable, and it functions as a quick reference work despite being classed as a 'technical manual' (but that does exempt it from VAT!).
Attention to detail, together with ample evidence drawn from original sources (not the same old publications and magazines), makes this book apparently irrefutable.
The large photos of insignia make it possible to determine the exact detail, far better than most other books preceding it. This raises the bar when it comes to those of us who have aspirations to publish. I'm not sure many will prove comparable in their attempt.
I would write more superlatives but I don't want to spend time typing as I have a great book to read...
Worth saving for!
Stephen.

This book seems to have sparked quite a lot of very positive feeling. Whilst I haven’t even received a copy yet and may possibly be not particularly qualified to comment, I predict that this book might herald a renaissance to collecting AA cap-badges.

Hi Andy,

Can you send a quick email to:

aacapbadges@gmail.com

I'll add it to my 'Potential Orders' folder and will email back when the main shipment of book arrives from the printers.

Regards

Chris

Hi Guys,

Books have now arrived, are in my possession and ready to ship around the world.

Currently working on the back orders and hope to have these packed up ready for shipping on Monday.

If I have missed out sending a confirmation email to those who had previously expressed an interest then could you resend. Also if anyone wants to buy a copy of:

Anodised Aluminium: The 'No Bull' Cap Badge of the Briitish Army

then please see:

and
