one of the low periods after the war was the downsizing and the forresters got hit and where reformed into an ant-tank unit the 45th which actually only lasted one year and the insiginia is extremely rare this occured 1946.

45 AT Regt
Paul, The G & SF were the 45 Anti-Tank Regt RCA from 1946 until 1954. In 1954 the 45 AT Regt was redesignated the Grey & Simcoe Foresters (28th Armoured Regiment) RCAC. The artillery slip-on is a very difficult slip-on.
(See Stewart, Concise Lineages of the Canadian Army 1855-Date, Telford, Scarlet to Green, the colours, uniforms and insignia of the GREY and SIMCOE FORESTERS, Brown, Foresters The Canadian Quest for Peace, Van Der Schee Cloth Epaulette Titles - The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery, etc.) |
