Default U/K Steam Engine Patch

Hello, I have recently obtained this patch of a Steam Engine.
It is 42mm x 38mm approx. a dark brown/black background with a yellow colour steam engine. It has a plain canvas backing.
Can a member ID this for me please?
I am hoping it has something to do with Royal Engineer railways, possibly from Crewe.
I await your replies.

It is definitely NOT Thomas, cant help beyond that though, sorry Jerry.

Seriously though, one of the R.E. field squadron’s had a loco as their flash ‘back in the day’ but a very different image to that shown.

Thanks Big Fart Controller...should have left the R out....
2nd CHESHIRE ENGR VOLS had a steam Loco as a collar badge but in metal.
It could have been possible they had a cloth version as a trial not accepted??
Thanks anyway.

Hi Bess, Not this one as it is a Traction Engine on the 45 Fd Sp Sqn patch and is quite a modern one.
As you see it is a Steam Railway engine on the one I am trying to ID.
It is quite possible mine is from overseas.
