Devons printed slip on shoulder title
Can anyone date these shoulder titles please? They came with a pair of 3rd Division formation signs and the seller had the original owner's WW2 medal box with his name and address.
I cannot find a WW2 connection between the Devonshire Regiment and the 3rd Division and they may be slightly post WW2. I have also never seen printed titles like these before. They maybe offered for sale. |

Similar to one that was on "Brittons Badges" site and described as WWII Indian made, but that one's embroidered, not printed, and perhaps KD rather than olive green.

I have seen similar for the welsh regiment, an enigma to the owner.
I have something similar for the welsh guards, I'll have to check how good a match they are.

I have certainly never seen one before but I have no doubt that it was worn at sometime however briefly. I got them from a house clearance man who had sold the medals separately. He had brass Devon shoulder titles and Devonshire Regiment buttons from the same clearance. Unfortunately, he had allowed buyers to cherry pick the items so the integrity of the group was lost. I simply bought the last few items that he had except the buttons and brass shoulder titles. I have the soldier's name and address from the medal box.
I am wondering if the S/Ts were a temporary measure for a sudden emergency such as Suez or Malaya. They are certainly very different to those issued during the Burma campaign that I have in my collection. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ctureid=171597 |

It looks more like the name tapes that have been going around.

Maybe, but they don't look anything like them and those are all woven/embroidered not printed
