Glamorgan Yeomanry and ASC (MT)
I've been researching my grandfather Alfred Edwin Pallen who served with the 2/1st Glamorgan Yeomanry between November 1917 and November 1918 when he transferred to the Army Service Corps (MT) where he trained as a heavy lorry driver and served in Germany with the British Army of the Rhine. I'd like to get a cap badge to the units he served with but on looking closely at the photos the cap badges don't seem to conform to the WW1 period Glamorgan Yeomanry badge, with the scrolls looking different. In one photo where he is standing with another soldier they appear to be wearing slightly different examples of the badge. It could be my eyes of course but any opinions would be welcome, many thanks

Indeed I can concur with Toby's comment regarding bent POW plumes badges.
I have one to the Welsh Regt. and have seen many such over the years. Seems to have been a common practice. CB

Thanks guys, that also explains why some of the badges appear slightly smaller/slimmer. As to shoulder titles, would they be wearing the T over Y over Glamorgan version, the height on some in view seems about right

Yes the shoulder title configuration that you describe is correct, but after 1916 the T was often clipped off because the military service act and the conscription it introduced created a one army concept with conscripted reinforcements sent to any unit regardless of its category.
