Default Unknown anodised alluminium

Gents a couple I am struggling to identify.

1. Odd 3 dimensional badge maker marked Gaunt London as we recognise, however I cannot identify its origin/regiment etc. Canadian?

2. Gold thistle with a curious fixing arrangement on the rear. Although it looks like an 'after market' adaptation, the alloy disc retaining the wire clip actually appears to have been manufactured this way. The rivets used to retain the disc are integral to the badge (the stamping cross hatching can be seen on the head of the rivet). Its is NOT the thistle arrangement from a Scots guards shoulder title it is bigger.

Any suggestions gents?

Bess,
I can only suggest that they are civilian pipe band insignia.

For example: https://www.rspba.org/html/history_earlycivilian.php

Thanks Tim - yes its a possibility.

The stags head over the coronet is similar to that seen on the Gordon's but without the wreaths and strap. The depth of the relief is something I have never seen before.
