Hi all, would anyone who has a version of this badge please tell me the makers name on the slider.
Most are j r gaunt London, of which there are two known types, early and later. Any others Thanks andrew |

Is the Gaunt "early" one piece, the "late" two piece?
I only have the Gaunt two piece and unmarked one piece. |

Likewise mine is two piece Gaunt London. I had a quick look at Chris's book and he lists 3 makers. Buttons Limited. George S Tye & Co and lastly as we know Gaunt Ltd.

Hi all, thanks for you input. The very early type is two piece, with the castle fixings bent over, not knocked over like a rivet would be.

Thanks to terry, he has posted me this photo of the back of his badge.
Quite clearly you can see four fixing points for the front of the badge, this is the only East Anglian brigade badge maker who does this , all the others use two fixings. Last edited by norfolk regt man; 12-06-19 at 06:18 PM. |
