Default Middlesex Regiment with loops

Hello good people of the forum.
Is this badge ok please?
If so from which era is it from please? If it's possible to say.
I'll be selling it if it's good.
Thank you all for your time.

Chris

Chris,

it puports to be from 1898 - 1905 period but I believe its a modern fake.

Lack of detail to the rear and footed lugs.

regards

I think that the intention is to deceive very deliberately, but, it certainly does fail in that.

Yes, it is most annoying!
I can't remember how or when I got the badge but my 'tool fine adjusting ' (hammer) had a good time before I threw it!

Gents, oddly I had a similar which I was unsure about, although having read above I suspect mine may be ok?

The original first generation of these cap badges tend to have a number of holes to their reverse, as shown, four in this case and the material used in their manufacture, along with the strikes, was very good, my examples all came from South Africa and date from the Anglo Boer War.
