Default a new lot just arrived

hi all
just got a few questions regarding this lot.
firstly, are they all genuine?
are the 5th west middlesex and Border Rgt collars?
not sure about the 9th lancers as i think they should have 3 lugs
i think the 5th lancers is good as is the Munsters.
what you all think
cheers
bc
btw if these are good, i will be offering them and a few others ive shown over the past few months for sale

Surely they’re not all genuine?

Hi bc,
My Victorian 9th Lancers has 4 lugs, not sure about the one you have shown.
Cheers, John

Yes John you are correct. 4 lugs. That’s why I’m thinking nine is a dud.
Thanks Terry, wondering if the red backing is period and what it indicates
Cheers

Bc, Can't say anything about the backing to your Borders badge, I just like it. The badge I have just has a small red piece of felt behind the central voided area, so I've hung on to it for that reason.

Hi, at one point in time, it was was the thing to do, display your all your badges on red felt , cut the same way as yours.

I am not sure about the 9L, 5L or Middlesex but the rest look ok. The 5L is probably ok though. Other than the 4 lug issue with the 9L it has nice golden braze so if you can do a side-by-side comparison to a known genuine example maybe you could decide yay or nay. Maybe a Friday afternoon special...
Cheers,
Alex

Which is the one you are callling RB? RB is Rifle Brigade to me and they generally (with one exception) did not wear collars.

On the subject of RB collars( and as Alan says there are exceptions) this is a letter to me from Laurie Archer in 1976.
